Dropshipping in Lahore: Supplier & COD Guide

Dropshipping in Lahore: Supplier & COD Guide

Dropshipping in Lahore means you sell the product first and buy it second. You pick items from a supplier's catalogue, share them with buyers on WhatsApp or Facebook, and order only once someone confirms. The supplier ships it, the courier collects the cash at the door, and you keep the gap between the supplier's price and the price you quoted. No shop, no stock at home, no company registration to begin.

Two things decide whether it works: the supplier you pick, and how well you handle cash on delivery. Lahore makes the first one easier than most cities — Azam Cloth Market, Shah Alam and Hall Road are a rickshaw ride away, and every major courier runs its Punjab network through here. The second part is on you.

Below: where Lahore resellers get products, how to judge a supplier, how COD money moves, and how to cut the refusals that eat a month's margin.

What changes when you sell from Lahore

Most guides treat Pakistan as one market. Selling from Lahore has its own shape, and it is worth knowing before you pick a product.

  • You sit on Punjab's courier spine. Lahore is a hub for every major courier, so parcels heading to Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujrat and Faisalabad move on short legs. Your reachable market is not the city — it is the belt around it.
  • The wholesale is walkable. Azam Cloth Market for fabric and unstitched, Shah Alam Market for general and household goods, Hall Road for mobile accessories and electronics, Anarkali for cosmetics and ready-made clothing, Brandreth Road for tools and auto parts. Even if you never buy a single unit, being able to see and touch a category is an edge.
  • The buyer base skews young. Johar Town, Township, Gulberg, Model Town and Bahria Town are full of students and young professionals who have already ordered something to their door. You spend less time convincing someone that online shopping is safe.
  • Seasons are loud. Wedding season, Eid and the winter switch move real volume in clothing, jewellery, cosmetics and home items. Plan your product list around the calendar instead of reacting to it.

The flip side: Lahore buyers have options. Someone in Gulberg can drive to a mall, someone near Anarkali can walk to a market. Your price and your reply speed have to beat the effort of going out. The same playbook adjusted for other cities is in our guides to dropshipping in Karachi and dropshipping in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Finding a supplier in Lahore: the three routes

Every reseller in this city ends up on one of three supply routes. They suit different stages, and there is no shame in using two at once.

1. Lahore's wholesale markets

Azam Cloth Market, Shah Alam, Hall Road, Anarkali, Ichhra and Landa Bazaar are where most physical stock in the city changes hands. Rates come down when you buy by the dozen, and you can inspect quality with your own hands.

The cost is that this is not dropshipping. You pay upfront, you carry the cartons home, and whatever does not sell is your loss. Most people who start this way learn the same lesson: the first purchase is exciting and the third one is a cupboard full of a colour nobody wanted. Buy from the market when you already know a category sells; do not use it to find out.

2. A no-minimum online catalogue

The route that actually fits a beginner is a supplier catalogue you can order from one unit at a time. That is what Markaz is — a wholesale catalogue with no minimum order, so you place an order after the customer has confirmed, not before. The supplier dispatches, the courier collects the cash, and your margin is paid out to you afterwards. Delivery inside Pakistan usually runs 3–5 days.

Start on the Markaz wholesale shop, work through the product categories to find a niche you can speak about honestly, and check the list of verified suppliers before you commit a customer to anything. If you want the wider view of what to look for, our roundup of the best dropshipping suppliers in Pakistan compares the options.

3. China-direct for what Pakistan does not make

Some categories — small gadgets, phone accessories, novelty and beauty tools — are simply cheaper at the source. Ordering direct from China takes longer, usually 10–17 days to Pakistan, so it works for planned stock rather than a same-week promise to a buyer. The Markaz China store and its current China deals handle the importing, and our piece on factory-price wholesale for Pakistani resellers explains why the sticker price and the landed price are different numbers.

How to judge a supplier before you send a customer their way

Your customer does not know your supplier exists. If the parcel is late, wrong or shoddy, it is your name that gets blamed on WhatsApp. Run this check before you list anything:

  • Can you order one unit? If the answer is a minimum of a dozen, that is wholesale, not dropshipping. Your risk profile changes completely.
  • Are the photos the real product? Order one sample of anything you plan to push hard. One sample answers more questions than an hour of messaging.
  • What happens on a return? Ask before the first order, not after the first refusal. Who pays the return leg, and how long until it is settled.
  • How fast do they dispatch? A supplier who ships next-day and one who ships in four days are different businesses, even at the same price.
  • Is the stock actually there? Colours and sizes going out of stock after you have taken money is the most common way a first order goes bad.
  • Is there any joining fee? There should not be. Anyone charging you to become a reseller is selling you the membership, not the products.

Cash on delivery: how the money actually moves

Nearly every order you take in Lahore will be cash on delivery. The sequence matters, because beginners plan their spending around the wrong step:

  1. The buyer confirms the order and the amount.
  2. You place it with the supplier at the supplier's price.
  3. The supplier packs and hands the parcel to the courier.
  4. The courier delivers and collects the cash from the buyer.
  5. The courier remits to the supplier, and your margin is paid out to your account after that.

So nothing leaves your pocket to make a sale — that is the whole point of the model. But the cash arrives after delivery, not at the moment the buyer says yes. Treat money as earned when it lands in your account, not when a parcel is dispatched. If cash on delivery is new to you, the complete guide to COD dropshipping in Pakistan covers the mechanics end to end; this page stays on what changes when the city is Lahore.

Cutting refusals — the part that decides your month

COD moves the risk from the buyer to you. A refused parcel is not a neutral event: the item travelled out, it has to travel back, and the return leg comes out of the money you were hoping to keep. A handful of refusals can wipe the profit off a stack of delivered orders. Reducing them is most of the job.

  • Confirm on a call, not on a message. A thirty-second voice call before dispatch — "it is going out today, the amount is X, will someone be home?" — kills most impulse and fake orders.
  • Write the full amount everywhere. The figure the rider asks for must be the figure the buyer already saw in writing. Any surprise at the door is a refusal.
  • Be strict about the address. Lahore addresses fail on missing block, phase and sector numbers more than anything else. Get the block, the street, and a nearest landmark every time — "DHA Phase 5" alone is not an address.
  • Set the delivery expectation out loud. Say 3–5 days for local stock and be honest that a China-sourced item takes longer. Four days of silence makes people cancel out of doubt, not dislike.
  • Describe the product honestly. If the fabric is thin, say so. A buyer who feels tricked when the box opens refuses on the spot.
  • Watch the repeat refusers. If a number has refused before, ask for advance payment or let the order go. Chasing it costs more than it pays.

What sells to Lahore buyers

Pick something you can answer questions about at 11pm without looking anything up. That rules out half the catalogue and saves you months.

  • Unstitched and ready-to-wear clothing. The single biggest category in this city, and it moves hard around Eid and wedding season. Competitive, so win on photos, sizing honesty and replies.
  • Cosmetics and skincare. Steady demand from the student and young-professional belt. Stick to products you would use yourself — this category punishes exaggeration.
  • Mobile accessories and small gadgets. Cheap to ship, easy to explain, easy to demo on video. Our list of gadgets and accessories worth dropshipping in Pakistan is a decent starting shortlist.
  • Home and kitchen. Strong in the newer housing societies where people are furnishing a first home. See the home and kitchen products that resell well.
  • Kids' items and toys. Reliable gifting demand year-round, and buyers are less price-sensitive than in clothing — our guide to kids' toys wholesale in Pakistan covers what to stock and what to avoid.
  • Winter layers. Lahore's cold snap is short and sharp, which makes it a genuine seasonal window rather than a year-round line.

Pricing, and the arithmetic behind it

Your selling price is not the supplier price plus a nice round number. It has to carry the delivery charge, the cost of parcels that come back, and something left for you.

An illustrative example — the numbers are made up to show the method, so use your own: say a supplier lists an item at 1,000 and delivery is 200. Your cost per delivered order is 1,200. If you sell at 1,600, you are keeping 400 on each one that lands. Now assume 1 order in 10 gets refused and the return leg costs you 200. Across 10 orders you earn 400 on nine of them and lose 200 on the tenth: 3,600 minus 200, so about 3,400 over ten orders instead of 4,000. Roughly a sixth of what you thought you made, gone.

Two things follow. Very thin margins do not survive a normal refusal rate, so pricing 30 rupees above cost to look cheap is not a strategy. And every refusal you prevent is worth more than the sale you chase. If you are still working out what starting capital you need, our breakdown of how much money it takes to start dropshipping in Pakistan puts numbers to the setup.

Where to sell in Lahore

You do not need a website on day one. You need a place where people already talk to each other.

  • WhatsApp. Status posts and a broadcast list are the highest-converting surface most resellers have. Reply speed matters more than the picture.
  • Area Facebook groups. Johar Town, Model Town, DHA, Township, Bahria Town, Wapda Town and Iqbal Town all have active buy-and-sell groups. These are your first hundred customers.
  • TikTok and Instagram reels. A fifteen-second clip of the product in your hand outperforms a catalogue photo, especially for gadgets and kitchen items.
  • Campus circles. If you are studying in the city, your own class group is a free test market for anything under a couple of thousand rupees.

Once your orders are steady, you can run the whole operation — catalogue, orders, payouts — through the Markaz dropshipping portal, and if you would rather earn on referrals than on parcels, the Markaz affiliate programme is the lighter version of the same job.

Your first order, step by step

  1. Sign up and browse. Create a reseller account and open the catalogue. Shortlist five products in one category, not fifty across ten.
  2. Set your price. Supplier price, plus delivery, plus your margin. Write the final figure down before you post anything.
  3. Post it properly. Real photos, size and material details, the delivery window, and the price. No "DM for price" — it costs you replies.
  4. Answer fast. The first person who asks a question is your most likely buyer. Same-day replies are the minimum.
  5. Confirm on a call. Name, full address with landmark, amount, and a yes.
  6. Place the order. Enter the customer's details on the app and let the supplier dispatch it.
  7. Follow the parcel. Share the tracking, message once mid-transit, and be reachable on delivery day.
  8. Collect and repeat. Your margin is paid out after delivery. Ask the buyer for a photo or a line of feedback — that is your next post.

Mistakes that cost Lahore resellers money

  • Buying stock before selling anything. The market is close by and the rates look good. That is exactly how beginners end up with money locked in cartons.
  • Competing only on price. There is always someone cheaper. Service, honest descriptions and fast replies are harder to copy.
  • Skipping the confirmation call. It feels like an unnecessary step until the third parcel comes back.
  • Selling ten categories at once. You cannot answer product questions properly across ten categories, and buyers can tell.
  • Ignoring the returns. Track which products and which areas refuse most. Two weeks of that data changes what you sell.
  • Quitting in month one. Most people who stop stopped because they replied a day late, not because the model failed.

Quick answers

Do I need money to start dropshipping in Lahore?

Not for stock. You order after the customer confirms, and the courier collects the cash. What you do need is a little money for data, sample products and the odd refused parcel.

Do I need to register a business?

Not to start selling as a reseller. Registration and tax matter once you are earning at a scale where it applies to you — take that step when the income is real, and take advice specific to your situation.

How long does delivery take?

Products stocked in Pakistan usually reach the buyer in 3–5 days. Items sourced from China take longer, generally 10–17 days, so quote that window honestly instead of hoping.

Which is better, buying from Shah Alam or ordering online?

Shah Alam gives you lower per-unit rates if you buy volume and know the category. An online catalogue with no minimum order gives you zero dead stock. Beginners are better off online; people with a proven seller can do both.

Can I sell outside Lahore?

Yes, and you should. The supplier ships to the buyer's address anywhere the courier goes, so a customer in Sialkot or Sahiwal is the same amount of work as one in Gulberg.

Can I do this alongside a job or university?

Yes — most people here start that way. Two focused hours a day is enough at the beginning, as long as those hours are consistent and buyers are not left waiting.

What if the customer refuses the parcel?

It goes back and the return leg costs money, which is why the confirmation call and an honest description matter so much. Expect a few, price for them, and work on cutting the rate rather than eliminating it.

Lahore gives a new reseller more than most cities do: a dense buyer base, a courier network that reaches half of Punjab in short hops, and markets you can visit to learn a category with your own eyes. What it does not give you is patience with slow replies. Pick one category, price it so a refusal does not hurt, and take the first order this week — you can start reselling with Markaz without buying a single unit of stock.
